BOVIA BREAKFAST / LUNCH CLUBFRIDAY, AUGUST 28TH @ 1:15 P.M. at Tio’s Mediterranean Grill – 794 E 14th Street, San Leandro. BOVIA BOOK CLUB:  TUESDAY, SEPTERMBER 1ST @ 7:00 P.M. (via Zoom – link will be emailed to interested parties). The book we are reading is “The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane” by Lisa See.  In summary, the book is:

A historical novel about a Chinese mother, Li-van, from the Akha ethnic minority, and her daughter, Haley, who is adopted by an American family.  The story follows their parallel journeys, exploring themes of tradition, modernity, motherhood, and the tea trade as Li-van leaves her village and her baby to find a new life, while Haley grows up in California wondering about her origins.

Our Book Club has a wonderful group of people with different perspectives and insights. Our discussions are diverse and interesting, even if you haven’t read the book!  You are welcome to join us!  Please email Kat at katwellman54@gmail.com for more information and the zoom link.

NEW – BOVIA Women’s Walking Group – Come join every Monday at 8:00 a.m. (weather permitting) for a brisk walk around our Bay-O-Vista neighborhood.  The Group meets at the intersection of Longview Drive and Skyview Drive as the starting point.  Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriate for the weather.
